The Supreme, District and Magistrates Courts of Queensland have released their (reduced) operating hours for the Christmas period. They can be found below.

  • The Supreme Court of Queensland operating hours can be found here.
  • The District Court of Queensland operating hours can be found here.
  • The Magistrate Court of Queensland operating hours can be found here.

The above includes the various registries in Brisbane, Gold Coast and other regional areas.

Likewise, many Brisbane and Gold Coast Lawyers close their offices from approximately 20 December 2013 until around 2 January 2014. Some will function on reduced capacity until a little later in January but you should make enquiries of when your lawyer will be available to handle any matters arising in your dispute over the break.

Despite such closures, the Courts are still accessible if you have a dispute that is regarded sufficiently urgent and upon application to the relevant contact (as identified above) you will be able to seek judicial assistance if required / necessary.

Affirmative Mediations, however, will continue to operate save for Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day. If you require assistance resolving a dispute with a degree of urgency click here.
