Mediations costs
- $2,700 + GST for half a day of mediation (allows for up to 4 hours of mediation); or
- $3,800 + GST for the full day of mediation (allows for up to 7.5 hours of mediation).
The mediation fee extends to:
- Issuing the mediation agreement and any necessary introductory correspondence / requests for information;
- Reading the necessary material / mediator’s brief;
- Conferring by telephone with the solicitors acting for the parties (or in circumstances where parties do not have representation, the parties themselves so as to briefly explain key dates and procedures);
- The intake sessions with the parties immediately prior to the commencement of the mediation;
- The mediation itself;
- Drafting the Heads of Agreement / Parenting Plan (if required); and
- Issuing a section 60I certificate (if required).
There is no additional fee for online mediations conducted via Zoom online video conferencing. For in person mediations, room hire is charged at cost.
If the mediation extends past 7.5 hours, an hourly rate of $600 + GST may apply by agreement with the parties.
The cost to issue an invitation to engage in mediation and a section 60I Certificate if the mediation does not proceed is $400 + GST.
There is no charge for travel time for mediations that take place on the Gold Coast. Additional travel time for mediations that take place outside of the Gold Coast is charged at a rate of $100 + GST per hour (or part thereof).
Cancellation policy
In the event of a cancellation or postponement of the Mediation that provides notice of at least fourteen (14) days from the scheduled mediation date, an administration fee of $1,000 + GST shall apply. Should the mediation be cancelled or postponed within fourteen (14) days of the scheduled mediation date, a fee of $1,500 + GST shall apply. Should the mediation be cancelled or postponed within seven (7) days of the scheduled mediation date, a fee of $2,000 + GST shall apply.
